In & Out of Tekentaal

I am the temporary president of the Union TEKENTAAL and work for years with this medium as a teacher in schools, drawing weeks, workshops, readings, and 1 to 1 in sessions. I wrote many books about Mandala & Tekentaal, in 2013, I initiated my school: Educatief Mandala Instituut.

As Psychosocial Therapist, I have worked with children, adults, parents, and grandparents.

TEKENTAAL, the unique medium, raises Psychotherapists, Teachers, and Coaches, who are working in a Non-verbal way with all kinds of problems, and stays for all what is playing in the situation, you, or your kids, your parents, are.

Tekentaal or Drawinglanguage – Paintinglanguage, Body language, is as old as the world. It is the language of signs, you can find it on rocks, clothes, body and at home. Drawing is a natural way of talking form the inside of your soul, to express what bothers you, to bring it out and show yourself.

* With our senses, our fantasy, we form pictures. We select and look for what we will implement and achieve.

* By drawing and painting the universe, we bring consciousness and unconscious together and make them visible, creating clearness. The technique can be used to drawing and painting lessons, in therapy and workshops, to help work out and clear out old trauma’s, patterns, beliefs and difficulties, pictures give us the insight of our inner life.

Tekentaal, what should I think?

Tekentaal is often the preparation for the Psychologist, Psychiatry, where cliënt bring their drawings that they have worked out with there Psychosocial therapist, about what is to see and learn and to talk about the conclusions.

On paper, you can also talk with another about problems, you have, without words, but in a way, you see directly what it means, what you are doing, how you handle things. It is as looking in a mirror, you see yourself in the picture, and that is the same for your partner.

I work with drawing media, so all you learn, you will implement by putting your persuasions into a drawing. This will help you to find your own patterns and possibilities. As we know everyone is capable to change and to grow to mindfulness, you can change your beliefs and navigate them that way.
